"My 11-year-old daughter and I were able to assemble this bed with no problems (although we did need my husband and teenage son to lift the upper bed into place). The wood is very heavy and sturdy. She loves her new bed and was very excited to have two friends for a sleepover last Friday - they each had their own comfy bed! "I was looking to upgrade my kids space in our vacation home and this was perfect! I wanted a heavy duty bed that could hold an adult comfortably if needed. Tons of space that cousins have a spot when visiting too. My husband assembled it himself and it took a few hours. Lessons learned: The hardest part was aligning the pieces on the headboard and baseboard of the bottom bunk if you stand them upright, but if you lay it on its side to line it then it’s easier. My husband complained the trundle had no instructions, but each box had its own paper so make sure to grab them all before you start. We were one screw short, but that could have been user error :) no complaints on how the items were packaged! We were able to fit all the boxes in a small SUV as well (with all seats down)."

"Other than MINOR issues such as some yellow stains, small dents, and the small boards at the head/foot that are loose, it’s a beautiful bed. It’s pretty sturdy and I love the option to separate and use as stand-alone beds. Even separated their sturdy. The ladder can be attached wherever you want it. The trundle does come with casters. I might have missed that in the description somewhere so I was prepared to not have them. It rolls in/out smoothly and is also sturdy."

- The maximum height for the mattress on our top bunks is 8". The maximum height for our trundle mattress is 5".
- Do you know which size mattresses are used in the display photo? I want to do an 8” on the top for comfort but I don’t want it to come up too high against this bed rail.

- We recommend a 5 & 8 inch mattress on both. Do not exceed 8 inches. The 5 inch will allow the most clearance, the the 8 inch offers more comfort.
